Welcoming address of Prince Dr. phil. Asfa-Wossen Asserate,
Chairman of the Board of the Society for the Promotion of Museums in Ethiopia on the occasion of the opening of the Wukro Museum on October 18, 2015
Dear Ato Aite Getachew Gebrehiwote,
On the auspicious occasion of the opening of the Wukro Museum, I would like to extend to you and all your colleagues concerned, my heartfelt felicitations as Chairman of the Board of Patrons of the Society for the Promotion of Museums in Ethiopia. The museum in Wukro is a splendid example for a successful cooperation between institutions in Ethiopia and Germany and it is my ardent hope that many more such joint-ventures will be implemented throughout Ethiopia in the future.
It is with a sense of great disappointment that I was unable to attend the opening of the Wukro Museum on 18th of October personally due to a symposium I had to chair in Austria that same day, but I can assure you that I shall be with you in spirit.
May the Almighty bless these new premises and may He make the Wukro Museum a place, where the ancient heritage of Ethiopia and its people will be cherished and taught to the new generation!
Please accept, my fellow countryman, the assurance of my highest esteem and my most cordial greetings.
Yours most sincerely,
Asfa-Wossen Asserate
